About the USHLI Student Leadership Summit
Presented By McDonald's
McDonald’s has partnered with the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI) and CoolSpeak for the fourth consecutive year to present the USHLI Student Leadership Summit. The 10-city summit is part of USHLI’s 2016 Student Leadership Series
, designed to Create a Culture of Education
.“With today’s competitive job market, pursuing a higher education is critical for our Hispanic youth,” said Dr. Juan Andrade, president of USHLI. “We must continue to motivate our youth and provide them with the resources that will support them on their path to success.”
The USHLI Student Leadership Summit will feature motivational speakers from CoolSpeak, a youth engagement organization that provides and educational experience and inspires students to learn by infusing a “cool” factor into programs and events. CoolSpeakers will challenge students to achieve their full potential through their own personal life experiences and thought-provoking insights.
After the motivational assembly and the workshop on financial aid, students will be able to stop by the College & Career fair to visit the McDonald’s Study Lounge, a hub to connect with other students complete with tablet kiosks and a fun photo booth. Students will also have the opportunity to learn more about existing scholarships, like the RMHC®/Hispanic American Commitment to Education Resources (RMHC®/HACER®) Scholarship, to help finance their college education.
Applications for the RMHC/HACER Scholarship, which include local and national scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $100,000, will become available online at http://www.meencanta.com/hacer/en/index.html
in October 2016. The RMHC/HACER Scholarship is part of the Charity’s and McDonald's commitment to helping students reach their full potential.
